Sony ILCE6000L/B ILCE6000LB ILCE-6000LB Alpha A6000 Mirrorle 5 of 5 people found the following review helpfulexcellent camera. However By M. Taussig on August 23, 2014 Verified Purchase I come from a Pentax k30, excellent camera. However, this little one let me take same quality shots with less size, less weight and less hassle. 1 Comment Was this review helpful to you? Yes No Sending feedback… Thank you for your feedback. As a “serious enthusiast,” I got it as a lighter-weight, less conspicuous option for travel/hiking; it was recommended for that purpose by more than one “pro” reviewer I found. THIS review is being submitted before the camera is tested on an upcoming trip, so….. I like this camera’s “feel.” For experienced DSLR shooters, it could take some time to figure out where all the functions operate from–different set-up from that of Canon (t1i) that I’m used to. There are a lot of creative in-camera modes, plus wifi, which is really cool, and worked fine. For less experienced photographers who are upgrading to an interchangeable lens system, I think this system would be a good option because there’s a lot of “guidance” built in, including a “tip sheet” on taking better pictures, which you can read right on the LCD. HOWEVER, Sony doesn’t include an actual manual, just a list of what functions the camera HAS, not a guide for finding and using features. I guess you can get a manual on-line from Sony, but that doesn’t help when you’re practicing in the field. As far as this “package” goes, it seems like a good value. All the stuff they show on-line is as advertised–including the 55-210 lens, which is a HUGE plus. The other gear may or may not be useful to you, depending on what you already have/need (the camera bag, which I found too big for this system, I’ll give away; I ordered separately a neoprene “sleeve” which makes the camera more portable). The filters, memory card, etc. are great little additions. All

Celestron 44302 Deluxe Handheld Digital Microscope 2MP : Sci 134 of 139 people found the following review helpfulQuite good for the price By K&R in SD on August 7, 2011Package Type: Standard Packaging Verified Purchase The image quality is good and I can use this camera / microscope on my Mac under OS Lion with the Photo Booth application. The illumination is good and the sharpness is good. At higher magnifications, it is a challenge to focus since there is not a rack and pinion type of focuser. You have to just make small adjustments to the stand or what you are observing. Since depth of field is shallow this can be tricky. The device is not parafocal. That means that different zoom levels require different focus positions. Yes, these are problems but overall this is a great way to see small things on your computer with reasonable quality. 8 Comments Was this review helpful to you? I have read in several places online that it is difficult to focus this digital microscope. I can’t agree with that. Mine focuses easy and takes great pictures close up on coins. If you are looking for an easy way to capture images of very small areas (such as the steps on Monticello of the Jefferson nickels), look no further, this product does a wonderful job at a very reasonable price. Defender Sentinel Pro 8CH H.264 Security DVR with 1TB Storag 9 of 9 people found the following review helpfulUseful product only if you know what you’re getting yourself into. By Steve on December 6, 2014 Verified Purchase This is my second Defender system that I have installed myself and am satisfied again with my purchase. To be clear this is not a replacement for the first system. The first system that I bought 2 years ago is still working but was buggy and needed a firmware update.CAMERAS:MOUNTING: It is important to note that these cameras are quite different in their mounting capabilities. They are both weatherproof and of the same resolution, however the larger cameras can only be mounted to walls, while the round ones can really be mounted on the ceiling or wall (I have done both). They also can both either be mounted so that the wire is run through the wall or surface mounted.RESOLUTION: As for the resolution, it is anything but HD quality. Keep that in mind if you haven’t owned a camera system before.VIEWING ANGLE: Finally the viewing angle is maybe 70 degrees which I would say could be better. However, there needs to be a balance between resolution and the viewing angle. The wider the angle, the less detail you will get in the images. Meaning a person would have to get close in order to see their face. So it is very important to experiment where the best angle is to get what you want in the shot also taking note of how far the wire needs to run to your DVR location. Taking the time to plan everything out first will definitely save headaches later.CAMERA PLACEMENT: One tip I would share is to make the cameras watch each other so to speak. So if you have a square house, make them all point clockwise or vice versa. You will get the most coverage and your cameras will watch each others back (in case of tampering).Read more › Comment Was this review helpful to you?
